This unit is about teaching special groups. It tells about the differences in an absolute beginner, a false beginner, an adult beginner, a young beginner, and a beginner without the Roman alphabet. Tips and techniques for teaching beginners is discussed as well as possible problems that could occur in the classroom. The teacher wants to motivate the students and help them stay as confident as possible while learning the foreign language. Suitable activities vary and homework should be reasonable and assigned with the students best interest in mind. A list is given with do's and don'ts when teaching children such as speak slow and clearly and do not use the students native language.
