Teach English in Shijiao Zhen - Qingyuan Shi
There are various teaching styles. Most notably the \"silent method\". I found this most intriguing becuase it does foster discussion; however, is most efficient only with high level students. With a classroom of individuals who are below intermediate, it seems less than efficient. The most agreeable methods seem to be suggestopedia. In my opinion, constant repetition will always yield fruitful results. For example, in order to memorize a list of words, it is efficient to repeatedly speak them aloud. Speaking the list allowed will also help. Furthermore, communicating that list and teaching another student will also yield stronger results. In other words, reviewing the materials from the previous lesson will help since it further reinforces the ideas into the student's mind. Another method I found to be quite interesting is the Communicative Language Teaching Method. I believe interactions are paramount for language development; however, from my own experience, students will tend to stick to what they know. Especially in large groups, they tend to drift away from the conversation once they have participated. ESA seems to be a very reliable method. Engaged students of course are more attentive and willing to learn new materials. After gaining their attention, helping them further understand through fun activities and correcting their mistakes is a great direction to head towards. Finally, letting the students activate their learning will help reinforce the ideas learned from previous and the current lesson. This method seems quite reliable. However, repeatedly going about this method on a daily basis will prove to be tiring and redundant. Mixing up different methods seems to be more efficient.
