There are 5 classifications of special groups. Beginners, Individuals (one/one), Young Learners (YL's), Business English (BE's) and Monolingual. TEaching beginners means those beginning to speak English and may fall into one of the 5 categories of \"Beginners\" (absolute beginner,false beginner,adult beginner,young beginner and the beginner without Roman alphabet). Teaching beginners involves special skills, being able to adapt to the situation, being able to contra your language and use visuals where possible to name a few. Teaching individuals is one on one with teacher/student but can present it's own set of problems such as not having a classroom full of students for the individual student to engage in activities with. An positive aspect to teaching individuals is there interest in learning the language is probably high. Teaching children requires a slower and more pronounced delivery of your lesson and continuous repetition and positive responses. Teaching Business English can be a bit daunting to the teacher as they may fear they don't know the field of business their students are involved in. What is necessary in a Business English class is the use of a needs analysis to determine the needs the teacher should have to plan the proper lessons and gives the teacher some understanding of their interests. Keeping students interest in a Business English class may be tough on accession as not every student wants to be there but is being required by their employer to learn the English language. And finally, the monolingual and multilingual class. Here English is the common language between all students since they will most likely come form various countries. This can be an advantage to the teacher.
