I found that unit 17 provides a very complete set of teaching equipment and teaching aids that can be used by teachers to make EFL lessons more interesting, effective and less dependent on only textbooks. I was aware the usage of most of the suggested teaching aids, nevertheless I found very helpful the list of online dictionaries and thesauruses that the unit recommended. Through this list I discovered new and practical websites for vocabulary learning, such as FreeDictionary.org, Oxford Reference: English Dictionaries and Thesauruses, Roget?s Thesaurus and Wordsmythe English Dictionary-Thesauruses. The E-learning websites and EFL online forums recommended at the end of this same unit, were also very useful to suggest to students when they wish to practise the language at home or during their self study time, they also provide good exercises ideas for the teacher. For example, the website English Club.net has a section for ?English Learners? and a section for ?English Teachers? with lots of ideas (for teachers) of lesson plans, ESL worksheets, grammar and vocab classroom handouts and fun ESL activities and games, and for students: fun lessons with quizzes and games for learning grammar, tests & tips on reading and fun topics for vocabulary building. As oppose to a few years ago, when textbooks and cassettes were common and the internet and E-learning were still a relatively new thing, today's classroom are very likely to be filled with I.T and internet literate students (even young learners) that is why it is very important that modern EFL teachers be up to date with this technology and make the most of it, to effectively and more interestingly teach the language to EFL learners.
