Unit 5 focuses on classroom management and discipline. It teaches the importance and usage of eye contact, voice, and using students? names in the classroom. The unit introduces ways of grouping students for class activities (whole-class grouping, students working on their own, groupwork, and pairwork) and lists the several pros and cons to each of these. The unit lists some practical ways to establish rapport with students, as well as how to maintain discipline. It details common reasons for problematic behavior and how to prevent and respond to it.
