Teach English in DalubiAn Zhen - Qingyuan Shi
This unit focuses on the various kinds of English classes whether in regards to specific topics, language levels, or age groups. When it comes to beginners, using a clear voice, focusing on students' needs, and using a lot of visuals are of the upmost importance. The same kinds of methods are also effective for teaching children. However, children are even more challenging because of their high-energy levels and shorter attention spans. Teachers must keep activities fun and short with plenty of variation. They must also remember to constantly encourage and reaffirm children's efforts as well as treat them all fairly. If teaching individuals in an one-on-one situation, teachers lose the group dynamic aspect but gain a closer, personal relationship with the pupil and are able to focus 100% on the student's needs and wants. Teaching Business English or English for a Specific Purpose (ESP) requires no knowledge of that field but does require more preparation and professionalism. Having clients complete a needs analysis will help to focus the course on exactly what the clients want and need as well as focus the needs of their employer. It is wise to research as much as possible about a company before beginning the course to help teachers provide clients with relevant topics to their jobs. Another class type teachers may come across is either a multilingual or monolingual class. The former features students from a variety of nationalities and languages, which proves advantageous because it forces students to communicate in English as the common language. On the other hand, a monolingual class's best advantage is that all of the students will face the same types of language problems, making them easier to address and correct.
