This unit identified the types of words that make up an English sentence, how they are interact with other words and where they are placed in a typical sentence. It's an interesting section for me because, as a native speaker, I don't often pay attention to these roles as they come intuitively when I write or speak: 'it sounds right'. Learning about them in depth helps to add context to the things I say without thinking and reminds me of the conscientious process language students must go through to speak correctly. It also brings to light the many exceptions and outliers in the English language - learning everything from the perspective of a non-native speaker requires a lot of time and practice across a variety of topics. Looking through the table of irregular verb forms reminded me a lot of learning German in my first year of University! A memorization nightmare!
