This unit went over all of the basic roles that a teacher will fill. This was very interesting for me, as I recognized all of these qualities in a teacher, but never broke them up so definitely. Each one of these roles is important and necessary in order to provide a complete experience for students to be able to learn. This unit also went over what makes a good learner. The teacher can only do so much in order to facilitate learning in a classroom. It is also necessary for the student to have the qualities for a good learner. These qualities can be encouraged by the teacher to make the learning environment all around more successful. It is necessary for the teacher to be aware of their students, including their culture, their language level, and their age. The teacher must be able to use specific strategies to be able to teach effectively based on these characteristics.
