In unit number 9 the use of books and materials is covered. Based on my experience from school and high school I remember that we used to practice with the course book a lot and my teachers never brought something else to the class which I though it was fine but I found it boring. It wasn't until I started my major than my perspective changed. Nowadays I can see that whenever we are teacher we need to be creative when choosing materials for the class. We can use a combination of materials, so we can have created and authentic materials as long as they complement each other. Maybe the grammar exercise in the book is not what you would like to have, so you can look or create your own exercise on the other hand, the material for the activate lesson can be perfect for your group and the lesson. The use of books will always be good as long as we do not rely on them all the time.
