I like how this unit emphasized the similarities between the present and past tenses' grammatical structures. Past simple is set up similar to present simple (subject + verb), only with ed added at the end for past. The only difference between past continuous and present continuous is (subject + aux. verb: to be + ing) the aux. verb: to be, is conjugated in the past, etc. This definitely made this unit easier to learn. I also liked a lot how the activities listed for use in the classroom promoted high student talk time. Some of the activities that I liked included, telling stories, journal activities, drawing pictures of activities that occurred in the past and describing them, and student investigation games. All of these are great in helping students express their thoughts and feelings regarding something that occurred in the past, or that continues till the present day.
