The video lessons in unit 10 provided helpful information regarding best practices when teaching English. The first video, during which the teacher taught in manner that was confusing and unhelpful to the students, shed light on how the language used in the classroom (for instance: the technical and unfamiliar term ?modal auxiliary verb?) can affect the class dynamic (intimidation and lack of motivation of students). Furthermore, the attitude of the teacher can have an effect on how the students engage with the teacher and the material of the day. In the second lesson, this was particularly evident as the teacher had a more positive attitude; smiling and engaging with the students. The students in the second video seemed more excited to learn and readily participated in the lesson as a direct result of the teacher?s positive attitude and engaging disposition.
