This first unit has been very insightful on the characteristics of a good teacher and, a good learner. As a teacher is instructing the class there are many roles the teacher might have to play in the class room. I can think back when I was in school and, see what roles they played. Also the qualities of a good learner, which is always important. Age is another factor that plays a part in learning. Different age groups have different experiences on how they will learn things and also their level of commitment and motivation. The culture in which the student/adult learning a new language comes into consideration. I found that assessing an individuals language level will help me understand what the student/adult is good at and what is needed to bring them to that next level. In conclusion, Motivation can be used as a tactic to help with the struggles of learning a new language.
