Unit 8 looks at the different future tenses of the English tense system. First the grammatical structure of five future tenses is explained (future simple, future continuous, future perfect, future perfect continuous, 'going to'future)and then two tenses, normally used as present tenses, are shown to have future applications. For each tense the form and the different usages are outlined and we see some typical student mistakes and errors. Throughout, example sentences as well as teaching ideas are given for a practical application. From Unit 8 I've learned how to identify, form and use the different future tenses. This knowledge will help me teach students the subtle differences in usage and structure between the various tenses. As with the other grammar units, I realize the importance of having a sound knowledge of these myself in order to teach them effectively to others.
