Unit 9 highlights the importance of lesson planning especially for teacher with little or no experience. Planning lessons is essential as the plan acts as a go to reference during the lesson. It helps the teacher know what the students need to achieve by the end of the lesson and where the focus of the lesson should be. Objectives are kept in mind during the lesson and the teacher is able to stay on course. It acts as a record for future reference and also as a guide should another teacher need to take over. After each lesson it is a good idea to evaluate oneself. The unit had a form which suited this purpose. I like this approach to self-evaluate after each lesson as I can align this with my goals as a teacher. I think this would be further appreciated if it?s coupled with an observer?s evaluation as well. It would be interesting to have an outsider?s feedback.
