I have learned a lot from this unit because it has been a long time since I have analyzed the English language and the way that I speak and write. I relearned the different parts of a sentence, which is very important to understand when you are teaching someone who has not heard English before. It was helpful to remember that there are so many forms of verbs, pronouns, nouns, adjectives, and adverbs. Therefore, I am going to constantly have to review this so that I can effectively teach English accurately. I had not thought about the differences between articles in a long time, but this section of the unit was super helpful. This summer I was teaching children in Thailand and Laos the differences between these parts of speech and I found it increasingly difficult because of the language barrier, so having this renewed understanding will help me in the future to teach this better.
