This unit covered information on teaching receptive skills. The receptive skills in this unit are reading and listening. For students to learn to read and to understand what they read, the teacher needs to teach in a way that is best for the students. Such as choosing text that is of interest to the class. The teacher could find out what interests the class in different ways, such as discussing together certain topics, looking at their age and learning level, or maybe making a survey of interests and have each student fill it out. When teaching listening skills, it?s important to prepare the students for what they will be listening to and by showing them some vocab that they might not have ever seen before. The teacher could give them a list of vocab and have them mark down the words they do not know. We could then discuss those words and then listen to the dialogue .
