Nouns reflect persons, places, things, or ideas, and are often classed into five categories. Adjectives are used to describe the qualities of nouns, and can be comparative as well as superlative. Articles come in definite and indefinite forms and are used to refer to members of groups. Verbs can be active or stative. All verbs have base forms but can be made infinitive with the word to. They are transitive or intransitive in form. Adverbs are used to modify verbs, adjectives, or other adverbs. They come in up to eight categories. Gerunds sre the -ing form of verbs that are used as nouns in sentences. Prepositions display relationships between nouns and come in three forms. Conjunctions are used for joining words or clauses. This unit, I have learned that all parts of speech can be further deconstructed categorically and assigned to different forms within their respective classes.
