This unit taught me about English teaching materials and the best ways to teach using the materials that we have. Authentic materials are regular real-world English materials that are not made for students. Created materials are made by the teacher to replace or add to a lesson. Course books are a wonderful and helpful tool that we should take advantage of. When able to choose a course book, we should research and find one that we can use to teach in ESA format, one that is at the level of our students and comes with a variety of materials for the lessons. We should also make sure that our course book has a variety of topics that can be of interest to our students. Teachers shouldn't only stick to the course book. It's important to add elements to the lessons to make them more interesting for our students, take out lessons that we know are not helpful or necessary, and replace them.
