In this unit we go over vocabulary, grammar and functions. When you were in the study phase of the lesson there are four things that students need to do with new language. Be exposed to it, understanding its meaning, understand how it's constructed and to be able to practice and produce it. Introducing new language you should use the ESA methods as in the straight arrow approach, the boomerang, or patchwork. This unit teaches you vocabulary and selecting the appropriate vocabulary for your student, how students need to know about the vocabulary item, and techniques for vocabulary teaching. Next it introduces grammatical structures. This means the meaning of the word being used and when and how to use it in the forms and patterns and the spoken and written form. Lastly we learn teaching language functions. Language functions include areas such as inviting, refusing, agreeing and disagreeing.
