It's a bit jarring to have to re-learn the basics. This unit did that for me, and with it's focus on categorizing grammatical types, it revealed to me that its not easy to identify the grammar lessons that have become intuitive for me. Reviewing these took more patience than I'd care to admit, but, more importantly, reminded me how tricky and unclear these lessons can be. Putting myself in the shoes of a EFL learner in this way is good. The similarity between the present tenses appear as if they will cause a challenge for learners, and moreover, the sheer amount of irregulars are more than I ever had to memorize when learning a foreign language in high school. This unit was helpful in putting me in a learner's frame of mind, for refreshing my own memory, and for mapping out the pitfalls that might make present tense mastery a challenge to a young student used to a much simpler grammatical system.
