This unit was very informative and a great refresher on the importance of grammar and speech. Breaking down parts of speech at times can be complicated as English teachers it is important to fully understand this unit. Nouns names a people, place, things, qualities, and states. Main Types of Nouns: Common, proper, compound, abstract, and collective. There are countable nouns and uncountable nouns. Adjectives are used to describe nouns such as people and things. Verbs are taught as an action word in school. However, doing doesn't really cover everything as well as actions verbs can refer to states. Auxiliary verbs help form a tense or an expression by combining with present of past participles or infinitives of the other verbs. Adverbs add meaning of information to the action, quality or state denoted by a verb hence the name. This unit was clear on how to break a sentence down based on grammar.
