Unit 8 covers future tenses and contrasts them with other tenses that can be used with future meanings. There are five future tenses: future simple, future perfect, future continuous, future perfect continuous, and be going + infinitive. There are two other tenses that can be used with future meanings: present simple and present continuous. Overall, there are 7 tenses that can be used with future meaning, but be going + infinitive and present continuous are the most common. Unit 8 is the culmination of the other two units that covered past tense and present tense. After completing unit 8, one can see how, by following the rules for each of the 13 tenses (be going + infinitive is #13), it is possible to accurately asses what tense any sentence is in. Each tense follows a format, and it takes some time to memorize each format. However, once you do, you can break down the parts of speech for any sentence!
