This unit gives a good insight into teachers and learners, both in qualities and methods of teaching and learning. As I am currently teaching, it was interesting to see names for some of the behaviours and techniques my colleagues and I employ within the classroom, and gave me some exposure to other styles of teaching that I have not encountered. For example, I teach large classes (40 students) in a senior high school, so my students exhibit issues common to both adult learners and young learners. Motivation and attitudes to learn also vary greatly across the 500 students I teach. Some of the teaching styles/methods are also not easily implemented in these class sizes, but it was good for me to be able to read about those, should I end up in a different experience. I think this unit would be especially applicable to those with no teaching/classroom experience, but it was still valuable for me nonetheless.
