This unit provides information on how teachers should go about teaching special groups. Various special groups are identified including; Beginners, Individual students, Children (or young learners) and teaching English for specific purposes (such as for Business). Various tips, teaching ideas, dos and don'ts that should be noted by teachers when teaching these various groups are also given. A sample Needs Analysis form for teaching Business English is provided which could be used basically to check the 'clients' needs and expectations from the course. It will be helpful to do a 'need analysis' for any group of students. When teaching special groups, what is most important in my opinion is for teachers to know the needs of the group he/she is teaching and also the methods of teaching that will work best with them. The methods used for teaching children for example may not be suitable when teaching adults.
