Unit 10 consists of two lessons which are conducted differently and they have different outcomes: Lesson 1 is unsuccessful, and lesson 2 is successful. ESA methodology is used in both lessons, but the teacher?s attitude in the first lesson is negative, and in the second ? positive. The difference is also in students? participation. They are active in the second lesson because the teacher speaks more slowly and clearly, uses gestures and mimics, smiles, uses students? names, and speaks appropriate for the particular level English language. He elegantly links the Study phase with the Activate phase by explaining the grammar (modal auxiliary verbs) in the study phase and allowing the students to use the concept in a creative manner in the Activate phase. He indicates clearly the end of the lesson and the students leave the class encouraged and confident in their knowledge gained in class.
