This unit is a broad introduction into the dynamics of a classroom and what the roll of the educator should be. It discusses the multiple roles a teacher will need to embody, as well as the different types of students. It describes the learning advantages and challenges of working with young and adult students as well as students of different skill levels. The most beneficial section of the unit for myself was the discussion about the educator's roles. I feel this is why some intelligent and caring teachers struggle to engage students, without allowing students to try, fail, and figure out the correct solution they never build the confidence in themselves to progress. In my experience, this can be hugely discouraging resulting in the student disengaging or accepting that they cannot learn the subject matter. The different roles played by teachers allow students who learn in different ways more opportunities to succeed.
