As a new teacher, I know I'm going to rely heavily on detailed lesson planning. Though this unit mentions at its offset that new teachers will depend upon it more than experienced ones, I get the feeling it drastically underestimates how uncertain a new teacher, like me, feels stepping into the shoes of a teacher, who, ideally, is in command of a classroom. The sense I have coming out of this unit is that I'm going to be a lesson-planning guru. I hope that I'll grow into the teacher that needs little structure, but for the first few months I know I'll be dependent upon plans for the structure that experience can also provide. To explain, I'm interested in being a comfortable teacher who creates a positive environment for student engagement. I think, for students, a teacher who doesn't seem comfortable doesn't foster an encouraging environment to engage in. At best, it creates one where students want to \"help the teacher out\
