The primary focus of this unit is on conditionals and reported speech. Conditionals are sentences containing two clauses: an if clause and a main clause. The if clause contains the condition that has to be satisfied before the main clause can be realized. There are five main conditionals. The zero conditional refers to actions and facts that are irrefutable, there is no change in meaning. The first conditional is when there are talks about a real situation in the future that is possible, probable, or even certain, once the condition has been satisfied. the second conditional is used when there is a hypothetical past action and a hypothetical past consequence. The third conditional is used when there is a hypothetical past action and a hypothetical past consequence. Finally the mixed conditional combines the second and third conditional. Reported Speech is formed by keeping a question word, and changing the verb to a positive.
