Conditionals and Reported speech are grammar points that require quite long, repetitive work and constant revising at least with Russian learners, as in Russian rules of using tenses are not so strict, the difference between the second and the third conditionals is quite blurred in grammar terms, they may sound almost the same should we omit time adverbials. Furthermore, in Russian fist conditional we use future tense after IF, and this cliché learners very often tend to apply in English. I never miss an opportunity to refresh students' knowledge in this area, as this can be done during almost any activity -- reading, speaking, writing, listening. \"What if ...\" questions may be really thought-provoking. I also find practicing restoring direct speech out of the reported statements very effective. The other point which students often struggle with, is reporting conditionals, and special attention has to be paid to this matter.
