Teach English in Fengting XiAng - Qiannan Buyizu Miaozu Zizhizhou
This unit covered the reasons for having a lesson plan, and the different attitudes towards even having one. Regarding the latter, some teachers believe that it lessens the spontaneity of a lesson, but this is countered by teachers who think that with some flexibility, a lesson plan helps the teacher reach the objectives set for the lesson. The unit also discusses the uses of a lesson plan; and what a lesson plan should include. A lesson plan should include the learner objectives, personal aims of the teacher, the phases of the lesson, the procedures that have to be gone through to reach the objectives, possible problems, and sometimes the number and names of the students. I found this unit useful, but somewhat confusing towards the end, when the tasks for teaching/learning the present perfect tense was used as an example. The example was clear, but for me there were some overlaps in the ESA structure (but it could be just me).
