I found two aspects of this unit very interesting. First, I was really excited about the first lesson suggestions and the warmers for building rapport. Second, I was glad to see the information about using recordings. I have found that recordings are sometimes difficult to use and the suggestion to have some extra materials available for the quicker students was helpful. I often feel like the students who need more time seem to be under pressure to speed up and I want to be sure that they do not feel rushed. At the same time, it is important that the rest of the class does not suffer as they wait. I think that planning study activities that can be used during the time we wait for slower students is a great suggestion because, these activities can then be gently given as recommended homework to the students who did not finish them in class. This way everyone gets the same opportunity and, can feel comfortable going at their own pace.
