I have studied several approaches in a classroom teaching such as PPP, ESA, etc. And there are three ways on ESA pattern. After studying this unit, I get a clearer idea how to make an efficient lesson planning. The importance of making a good lesson plan is to ensure what the learners could learn, how the students learn the knowledge/skills, what activities appropriate for the classroom use, the time management, etc. I think even a full-experienced teacher should have a lesson plan. Of course, the plan they do should be concise. For less-experienced tutor, a comprehensive lesson plan is a must. Teachers should plan some appropriate tasks for each ESA stage. For example, some freestyle tasks must be worked in Activate stage to students can use their languages to work on some task. On the other hand, in Study stage, some controlled practice should be used to make sure students understand the language knowledge clearly and directly.
