Actually this unit gave me more confidence on pronunciation of the words. But reading the phonetic script is somewhat funny but challenging. But as written on this unit, we teachers should consider the teaching of prounciation an integral part. Skilled pronunciation teaching also gives life to a class because it reflects feelings and presonal reactions to different situations. In this unit I learned many things about STRESS, RHYTHM, and INTONATION as well as concetrating on the International Phonetic Alphabet and its use in helpingstudents to come to an understanding of the pronunciation of English.I have also learned few techniques for indicating and teaching intonation. Know where to put the stress in a sentence. And also the phonemic alphabet. After reading this unit, it refreshes me on my phonetic capabilties, on when to stress the words in a sentence and some ways or techniques on how to teach properly the pronunciations of the words.
