Checking the classroom must be an obligatory task for teachers. They must see the classroom layout, whether or not there is an OHP and/or IWB. Using the board properly must be an occupational necessity. It would be better to use colorful and more than one boardmarker (unless an IWB is used) to highlight important details on board. While using a casette-recorder/dvd/video, teachers should set the volume level well and in this regard they should definitely check the system prior to starting a lesson so that it would not be time loss to do it during lesson and done in front of students. If an IWB is to be used, teachers should absolutely learn how to use it in advance and have a second plan for any negative case. In short, making sure of the technical side of a lesson must not be an optinal thing for a teacher. In terms of both a teacher's responsibility and students' rightful expections, time must not be spent on handling a technical problem.
