This unit describes methodologies and techniques in teaching language. If the grammar-translation method as well as audio-lingualism were still popular till the 1990s (e.g. in Romania and persent Japan), more flexible and student engaged methods came along, like the one this unit focuses on: ESA. This method uses the three stages: engagement, study and acivate. All these stages have their own characteristics. The engagement stage focuses on the involvment of students in using the already learned and recent language aquisition. The Study stage is the process when students learn new vocabulary and grammar. The Activate step uses tools for students to practice the new vocabulary and grammar in combination with previous language aquisitions. Offering feedback and correction techniques are the final part of this unit. Though tnere are various methods, techniques and tools, the practice of teaching itself is the best way to learn how to apply them.
