Surprisingly, Unit 1 served up plenty of useful information on different roles of English teacher, the level of teacher?s involvement in classroom activities, how the motivation depends on age. In my opinion, it is crucial to be aware of such basic things as what makes you good teacher or a good student, also, what are the main levels of ability in any language. Cultural difference between student and teacher is also a thing to keep in mind. I have never had such experience, so I eager to know everything about it. In Russia, an English teacher mainly plays the role of the manager as well as the assessor. When I tutor my students, I try to develop individual approach which is based on their age, range of interests and what kind of learners are they, according to Neil Fleming's VARK model. However, I always feel that my methods are intuitive and sometimes chaotic. I am looking forward to absorb new material and to systemize my way of teaching.
