Like unit 11, unit 12 outlined 2 very important skills to learning any new language. After reading unit 12, I still do believe that listening and reading are the most important parts of learning a language because without those skills, it would be difficult for any student to learn about speaking and writing. Speaking and writing are also very important though because i suppose the ultimate goal for people taking English lessons is to be able to speak and write English, which we could assume they would be able to listen and read with good receptive skills. Writing and speaking can be a bit more tedious to teach because it focuses more on drilling and practicing tot ensure proper accuracy and proper spelling and grammar. Fluency lessons can be fun for students because it would allow the classroom to discuss many different topics. There are also lessons that exist that would allow students to practice receptive and productive skills at the same time.
