This unit gave a clear assessment of the responsibilities of both teachers and learners, what their roles are, what might impact their success, and what they should do to be successful in teaching or learning English. The unit also explained the different age groups of learners and the advantages ad disadvantages of each, the different language levels and their meanings for student level placement and thoroughly explained the motivations for learning English and why maintaining and building motivation is so important for the learners success. From the unit I learned the different technical language levels and the different things that may impact the success of learners. A lot of the teacher roles were common knowledge for someone with a lot of learning experience however, from this unit I feel much more confident in understanding what my roles as a teacher will be. The unit was very thorough and informative in many aspects of teaching and learning.
