In this Unit i've been made to understand that teaching beginners or new learners vocabulary, grammar and functions are very important for their grasping of the language. It is said that grammar is like a tree trunk and branches of a language while vocabulary and functions are the leaves that add beauty and variety to the language. therefore without a firm grasp of vocabulary and its usage most learners wont be able to master the language and its fluency.therefore we need to select the vocabulary based on the level of the learners. secondly we equally need to introduce them to grammar and its usage by creating a scenario for them to practice the language structure. finally, i've equally learnt that after teaching vocabulary and grammar ,i equally need to teach the how the language functions.Language functions in areas like inviting, refusing, suggesting etc.Once the students acquire these basic skills the language begins to have meaning to them
