Unit 2 helps understanding about the characteristics of a Business English teacher and the students he/she might have. The roles they have in the teaching/learning process as well as their perspectives and intentions are slightly different from a common interaction between teacher and student in a school classroom. Some of the explanations and differences really surprised me and helped me visualize better the process of teaching Business English. For example on page 3, using the lack of knowledge in the area of study of the teacher as an advantage in increasing the speaking time of the student with helping questions is a useful idea. I was surprised (however, I understood the idea) that on page 11, in Speaking chapter, is considered a good method to give the students the time to make the presentation in their native language and then translate it into English. I was expecting that each time the teacher should focus only on making the student think in L2.
