Unit 10 consisted of two videos of real English lessons in Thailand. In the first video the teacher seems really uninterested and is occasionally rude. The students are therefore intimidated and not likely to engage in class. The second video, in contrast, shows how when a teacher smiles and makes the effort to know the students' names, the students are likely to participate in class. Additionally, in the first video the teacher teaches a concept that is too hard for the students too understand and he makes no effort whatsoever to address the subject from a different angle. In the second video the topic is addressed much more carefully through first starting with what the students already feel comfortable with. I thought it was really interesting to see the big difference between the two classes. I found it very hard to watch the first lesson as the students seemed so confused and scared to say anything. The second video made me almost want to join the class.
