Teach English in Niudachang Zhen - Qiandongnan Miaozu Dongzu Zizhi
I learned from this unit that there are more ways to fark up the English language than I had realized. What English usage has been acquired over my years has come from reading and listening to others speak. Seeing it written down explaining the why, how and when of it all opens up a part of my brain that has either been dormant or never used. Tense is so important to understanding what is being said, that improper form can change the entire meaning. Direct and reported speech seem especially problematic when trying to use the correct form of the expression of time. I think it would be helpful to ESL students for the teacher to use visual props to show yesterday, today and tomorrow. I found this chapter to be the most difficult, even though I did poorly on 2 of the tests, that was not indicative of the content, but of the state of my health when taking them. But this test hasn't scored yet, so let's see how accurate my poor health=poor grade comparison works.
