The unit talked about how to create lesson plans. There are three main reasons that lesson planning is important-- 1) it's an aid to planning, you state your objectives and how you intend to teach them so you can reach your goal. 2) It's a working document, it helps you stay on target with your overall teaching and is used as a reference when planning subsequent lessons. 3) It's a record, it's a way for you to keep track of what's been accomplished and what materials were used. It is also helpful if you were to teach the same class again. I found this unit extremely helpful! I have never created lessons plans before so it seemed very overwhelming, but by referring back to other units and looking at the example I was able to create my own lesson plans. I can see that this is something that will get easier with time and how I will most likely develop my own system, but I liked the structure, examples, and support amterials that were available with the task sheet.
