Good teaching is not about standing at the front of all classes at all times dictating lessons but is part of an interactive experience where students also contribute a great deal towards the learning experience. Good teachers are those that love teaching but at the same time care more about the student leaning experience. Teachers have varying roles and must know all their roles and when each one is applicable, for example, when giving an activity to a group of students it is important that the students are given the freedom to discover the answers on their own while the teachers take a back seat, prompting them when required and giving guidance when required. There are many different levels of student, from beginner to intermediate to advanced. It is important that teachers understand the levels of their students and plan the learning experience accordingly. Similarly, within these levels of students, there is a great deal of difference between young and adult learners.
