Unit 1 went into a few different topics starting with the qualities of a good teacher and the roles of a teacher. Some of these qualities include the ability to motivate learners, distiguish knowledge of the subject, ability to involve students equally, ability to correct students without offending or affecting their motivation and lastly possessing knowledge of the students weaknesses and giving individual help when necessary. The 9 roles of a teacher are important in managing the class and being an effective teacher. Next the lesson goes into talking about what makes a good learner. One of the most important chracteristics of a good learner in my opinion is the ability to ask questions and speaking up about them. Next the lesson goes on to talk about the levels of lanaguage ability from beginner all the way to advance. Lastly the lesson covers what gives students motivation for studying English which I find very interesting hearing the motivation behind why they want to learn the language.
