This unit gave me a good overview of the critical points of class management and I learned that I must be able to inspire confidence in the students. To do this, I must be skillful in organizing and managing the class as well as having a friendly, relaxed manner and maintaining discipline. Also, this unit helped me to reflect on eye contact and gestures, particularly in different cultures and to make sure I research these matters before preparing materials and teaching in new areas. It raised some questions as to what hand or finger signs might be offensive to other cultures as well as pair work combinations, e.g., should I pair boys and girls together in certain countries? It will be exciting and fun to research the various customs of the countries where I will be teaching. It will also be inspiring and helpful for me to put myself in the shoes of the students and look at learning from their perspective. The motto \"Keeping it Simple\" will go a long way in helping me teach the students effectively.
