Unit nine goes over many different materials the teachers can use to help their students and help them move forward in the classroom. It goes over differences between authentic and creative materials and how to use course books affectively for your students. This unit also goes over what books you should use and why you shouldn't use as your course book. It will also help you choose materials to best suit your lesson. In this unit it also goes over that teachers often create their own lesson plans and or learning materials to supplement the course book and replace sections that are not suitable for class. These materials are separated into groups authentic and not authentic. Some good materials that can be created by the teacher are examples like crossword puzzle's, word searc puzzles, roll play cards, flashcards etc. and continues to go over the course book advantages and disadvantage is and how to get the best uses out of the box. Also how to analyze your course books and use them in the best way possible.
