I found this unit to be very helpful and insightful as it explained to me the ways in which the teacher can be involved in the classroom. I am currently working as an online ESL instructor, so this lesson challenge me to think about how I could apply all of the skills learned to my online lessons and how the various roles of the teacher work differently in an online, one-on-one setting. This lesson has brought to light several things that I could be doing to encourage my students more, such as participating in more activities with them and spending less time correcting their every mistake. I will be implementing these skills into my classes immediately and expect to see great growth from my students! I also very much enjoyed the section about what makes a good learner. For the longest time, I have been trying to figure out how to get my students more motivated in class and excited about the language?I feel that this unit gave me a push in the right direction to thinking about how to better motivate my students.
