This unit talked about different methodologies used over the years to teach a new language. As those methodologies evolved, they went from separated methods and now most of them have been incorporated to the ESA method (Engage, Study, Activate). The way I see it, ESA is so far the most complete method because you start the class in a more interactive/ fun way as suggested in the suggestopedia method (making students feel safe and comfortable) then goes on to learning a new topic where audio lingualism (drills) and task based (worksheet) method can be used. Last, we have the activate phase where we can mix CLT, CLL, the lexical approach and the total physical response. One strategy, I will definitely try to use more is elicitation because is a fine good resource to provoke students to think more about the language and bring it to their reality. Another interesting thing was learning when is a good time to correct students and when is not. Also, the code to correct writings and where to place them based on the level was very helpful information.
