I can see why learning and teaching the concepts of tense can be quite challenging. There are so many tenses plus the exceptions and the added words like have been etc. that add to the confusion. I notice it can be helpful to identify keywords or characteristics like the words don't or haven't and for present perfect continuous- ing.This chapter was filled with many good pieces of advice. Something new I learned was the patchwork method, straight arrow method, and boomerang methods. I found this chapter quite annoying as it really doesn't cover language function as well as I would have liked. I thought the phases of the engage, study and activate all made sense.
